A Memorial ring for charles II
the oval bezel with a lock hair and gold cypher CR under crystal cracked, within scalloped chased border and black enemel dot decoration, to black enamel, mostly lost, reeded shoulders, the reverse engraved, Memento Feb. 6: Frid:y 8 4/8, AE 54, under a crown, finger size - D, together with two silver serpent rings, probably 18th century. (3)

Further details
Charles II succeed to the throne in 1649, and was restored on 29 May 1660 and crowned on 23rd April 1661. He died of Ureamia Mercury poisoning, at Whitehall Palace 6 February 1685.
