The rounded rectangular crossbanded twin-flap top with re-entrant corners on lyre supports, joined by a turned stretcher, with downswept legs with brass caps and castors, redecorated, previously with a basket

Lot Essay

The writing-table, with hinged candlestick-flaps, has Grecian lyre-scrolled trestles with palm-wrapped pillars in the fashion popularised by a bronze candelabrum pattern issued in Thomas Hope's Household Furniture and Interior Decoration, 1807 (pl. 22).
