A related Pontypool crimson tea-caddy of similar bombé form and dating to circa 1760 is in the Capt. Geoffrey Crawshay Collection, National Museum of Wales, Cardiff. Related piercing can be seen on a pair of Pontypool ice-pails of circa 1780 in the collection of Sir Russell Wilkinson (W. D. John and A. Simcox, Pontypool and Usk Japanned Wares, Bath, 1966, figs. 13B and 19B).
