THE CENTRAL FIELD MID-16TH CENTURY, THE BORDER FIRST HALF 17TH CENTURY
Woven in wools and silks, depicting a Queen before a partially visible seated king, with attendants holding her veil, within a bead-and-reel inner slip and an architectural border with angels on winged orbs and fruiting vases issuing from winged herms, the top centred by a coat-of-arms flanked by scrolling foliage, with a stiff-leaf outer border and a later blue slip, reduced in width and height with restored vertical cut to the right side of the main field, the central area to the top border associated, reweaving particularly to the outlines of the figures
