A GUERRERO-PUEBLA STONE FIGURE
Late Preclassic, ca. 300-100 B.C.
The singular figure showing an assimilation of Guerrero and Teotihuacan traits, standing on diminutive legs with long torso, broad shoulders and hands held against the chest, wearing a tunic with distinctive side notches, the wide mask-like face with lips parted, drilled at the corners and flanked by horizontal tattoos, the almond-shaped eyes possible once inlaid, pierced rectangular ears and the forehead demarcated by a thin groove; in olive green stone.
