A COSTA RICAN JADE BAT PENDANT
Guanacaste-Nicoya region, ca. A.D. 1-500
Of thick section, the central standing figure of the bat god with human attributes, hands held at the chest, the long tapering, spread wings forming the dorsal fins of two giant sharks, each with a tiny sunken eye, one pierced and grooves representing the gills; in spinach green speckled stone.
Lenght 7 in. (18 cm.)
