A cased set of Louis XV bone gaming counters
Circa 1740
The lacquered outer case applied with gilt-heightened and cut paper figures and lambrequin ornament, enclosing four similarly decorated fitted boxes, each applied to the cover with an ivory and bone rotating dial with aperture revealing engraved numerals, the enclosed counters stained red, green and natural
The outer case -- 7½in. (19cm.) wide
