THE FIRST CIRCA 1752-5, THE SECOND LATE 17TH/EARLY 18TH CENTURY, BLUE SEAL MARK WITHIN A CIRCLE
The first painted in underglaze blue and in overglaze enamels and gilding with two ho-o birds perched and in flight among prunus and bamboo issuing from banded hedges, within a border of tightly scrolling iron-red flowers and foliage and gilt flowerheads (very light rubbing and surface scratching); the Arita dish painted with two ho-o birds perched and in flight among prunus and bamboo issuing from banded hedges, within a shaped brown-lined rim (three rim chips, two with associated cracks and two with gold-lacquer repairs, one slight rim chip to underside)
