Slightly tapering rectangular grey lacquer etui-à-tablettes with slightly arched top, of oblong section, of grey lacquer, within gold ribbon-twist borders, obverse and reverse of cover applied with inscription SOUVENIR D'AMITIE within reeded and pierced foliate borders, both sides of the base inset with oval slightly convex gold relief plaques depicting allegories of Fall and Winter, within a stylized acanthus two-colour gold border; gold-capped pencil and gold-riveted three-leaved tablets inside
