Oval box, the cover, sides and base with panels of peaked engine-turning within fluted borders, the lid centred by an oval enamel miniature depicting the jugate profiles of a Roman emperor and his wife painted en grisaille on an oxblood red ground, rose-cut diamond frame, the sablé borders engraved with swags of flowers, the four side pilasters similarly engraved with exotic plants
