maker's mark 'PG' in a rectangle, Geneva, circa 1800, struck with other indistinct marks
Octagonal box, the cover, side and base panels engine-turned with two alternating different types of guilloché bands within matted borders chased with acorn and leaves within plain gold rims, the lid centred by an oval blue enamel plaque with scrolling gold taille d'épargne initials 'CL', the four canted corners chased with scrolls on matted rectangles
