Lot Essay

Augusta Amalia, Princess of Bavaria, was married in 1806 to Empress Josephine's son Eugène de Beauharnais, Duke of Leuchtenberg from 1817. She was the Grand Mistress of the Bavarian Order of St. Elizabeth which included twelve ladies of ruling princely houses and thirty-two catholic noble ladies.
