LATE PTOLEMAIC PERIOD TO EARLY ROMAN PERIOD, CIRCA 2ND CENTURY B.C.-1ST CENTURY A.D.
Sculpted in bold raised relief, depicting a chubby child god, perhaps Harpokrates, facing left with his index finger raised to his lips, wearing a belted pleated kilt, broad collar and the Double Crown, the sidelock of youth attached, seated on a short-backed throne merging into the ground line, his upraised arm holding a bolt of cloth, the hand of his lowered arm cupping an attribute interpreted as a quadruped, perhaps a Hathor cow, rampant upon a neb-sign
12¼ in. (31 cm.) high
