AN EASTERN MEDITERRANEAN CORE-FORMED GLASS ALABASTRON
CIRCA LATE 6TH-EARLY 5TH CENTURY B.C.
Opaque white in color, the elongated oval body with rounded bottom, rounded shoulders, short cylindrical neck and horizontal rim-disk, with an aubergine marvered thread wound spirally along the neck and body, tooled into a zigzag pattern along the length of the body, an aubergine thread on the rim, the twin opaque white vertical handles with long tails
4 7/8 in. (12.4 cm.) high
