A GREEK GOLD RAM HEAD PENDANT
LATE CLASSICAL TO HELLENISTIC PERIOD
CIRCA 4TH CENTURY B.C.
With projecting triangular ears framed by underslung horns, the eyes perforated and perhaps once inlaid, the tapering snout with indented nostrils and a horizontal mouth, joined to a cylindrical collar embellished with serpentine filigree framed by beaded wire, the cylinder perforated for suspension, the perforations rimmed with beaded wire, the cylinder capped with a filigree rosette rimmed with beaded wire and centered by a single granule above two rings of granulation
