NEW KINGDOM TO THIRD INTERMEDIATE PERIOD, 1550-712 B.C.
The spacer of steatite, rectangular in form, engraved on one side with an enthroned pharaoh wearing the Blue Crown and holding a scepter, the other side with a pharaoh as a sphinx trampling a foe under foot, both accompanied by a single cartouche inscribed in hieroglyphs for Men-Kheper-Re, the two narrow sides each engraved with an animal-headed anthropomorphic deity, perforated lengthwise; one a scaraboid of lapis engraved with a sistrum flanked by cobras on one side, the other engraved with a hieroglyphic motto, Nefer Mut, "May Mut be well disposed," perforated lengthwise; and one of green jasper engraved with a Maat-feather in raised relief holding a falcon-headed deity sitting on a neb-sign, the other side inscribed in hieroglyphs reading, "May protection extend over all places in the two lands," perforated lengthwise
