A Dutch silver mill beaker
Maker's mark apparently unknown (Dordrechts Goud en Zilver, no. 26), Dordrecht, 1639
The bell-shaped cup with slightly flared rim, with moulded mid-ribs, applied lion's masks and drop rings at intervals, engraved bands of fruit and flowers, knob stem (repaired) flanked by six scroll brackets (one broken), the windmill above with revolving sails, engraved sides and roof (repairs), blowpipe with stairs beside with a miller carrying a sack and a miller standing in the doorway, marked on lower part cup
