This piece is referenced on the Edgar Brandt's invoice to Mrs Joseph Bernard, dated 22 March 1926.
Bernard is one of the artists exhibited at Brandt's gallery in Paris in 1920, among other artists such as Despiau, Pompon, Sandoz, Lalique, Puiforcat, etc... Joseph Bernard influenced some of Edgar Brandt's works : the decoration of two tall vases exhibited by Brandt at the 1925 exhibition is very similar to the Joseph Bernard's frieze 'La Danse' shown at the same salon
