Another work by this artist, Le marché aux fleurs was sold by Sotheby's New York in 1988 for 38,500 dollars. Georges Fraipont was a student of Gérome and Merson. He was a member of the Artistes Françaises from 1905 and the son of Gustave Fraipont.
