Lot Essay

A student of his father, Jean-Raymond-Hippolyte Lazerges, he debuted at the Salon in 1867. After a trip to Algeria, he began painting Orientalist subjects, and remained in North Africa for some time. he was bestowed several awards including a bronze medal at the Exposition Universelle in 1900. His works have been conserved by museums in Amiens, Arras, Nantes and Périgueux
