Each with bifurcated finial above a pierced baluster frieze with drapery swagged apron, on foliate tapering feet, with curved return and further finial before the cast-iron arm

Lot Essay

Similar feu were supplied by the bronzier Feuchère in 1805 for the Salle à Manger at the Trianon. Described as un feu à oeufs à balustres et à gaines avec fortes garnitures complette 260, they are now at Fontainebleau and are illustrated in J. P Samoyault, Pendules et Bronzes d'Ameublement entrés sous le Premier Empire, Paris, 1989, no. 203.
