A GEORGE III SILVER-GILT CUP AND COVER
MARK OF WILLIAM BATEMAN, LONDON, 1818
The campana-form cup supported on a pedestal foot, the base decorated with stiff leaf motifs and with two applied part satyr mask handles, engraved on each side with a presentation inscription - 18¾in. (47.5cm.) high, 96oz.
The inscriptions read: GOODWOOD, 1825 Lord Dunwich C. C. Cavendish Esq'r C. S. Dickens Esq'r STEWARDS and The Halnaker Cup Won by Pantomime RODE BY Cap'n Frederick F. Berkeley
