Lot Essay

In the 1908 London Olympics, gold in the Eight-Oared Rowing race was won by Great Britain, silver went to Belgium and bronze to Canada. The members of the winning British team were Albert Gladstone, Frederick Kelly, Banner Johnstone, Guy Nickalls, Charles Burnell, Ronald Sanderson, Raymond Etherington-Smith, Henry Bucknall and Gilchrist Maclagan.
