Lot Essay

Racquets was an Olympic sport only in 1908 when all seven competitors were British and each won a medal. The Racquets Doubles bronze medallists were Evan Noel and Henry Leaf. Vane Pennel and John Astor won the gold, and Edward Bury and Cecil Browning the silver. Noel also won gold and Leaf silver for the Racquets Singles event.
