Lot Essay

The écuelle appears to have a date letter A within the interlaced Ls. The blue enamel date letters c on both pieces suggest that Evans re-dated the écuelle at the time of decoration. Étienne Evans was a painter of birds, animals and flowers at Sèvres from 1752 to 1786.
