1740, BLUE AR MONOGRAM, DREHER'S INCISED XII TO FOOTRIM
The front painted with a naval battle below a central ombrierte achievement with accollée arms in oval shields against a scale ornament escutcheon, divided by a puce cord suspending a shell, edged with scrolls, palm fronds and surmounted by a jewelled coronet, within an elaborate shaped gilt cartouche with diaper panels, foliage scrolls and shells, edged in brown and against a grey and black scale-ornament escutcheon edged with puce and red strapwork, foliage, scrolls and blue husks, centred above and below by large red shells, the other side with figures by a rectangular pool before a water pavilion flanked by colonnades, with figures disembarking from barges, within a similar cartouche and escutcheon, the sides and neck with scattered indianische Blumen, the neck with a Gitterwerk border, the domed cover similarly decorated with battle and port scenes below a gilt acorn finial, gilt line rim (vase with very slight chipping to rim, chipping to footrim, cover with replacement finial, chip to interior flange, two chips to rim, one with two associated short cracks with associated losses)
