CIRCA 1755, RED WHEEL MARK
The double-scroll handle and rocaille-moulded spout each enriched in purple enamel and gilding, the body painted with scattered flower-sprays, the front with a pastoral scene, probably after David Teniers, with peasants drinking in a wooded landscape, supported by a purple rococo scrolling foliage half-cartouche, the rim with a gilt zig-zag and dot border above a band of purple trefoils and husks, the domed cover with a gilt and purple bud finial above a landscape vignette and similar cartouche within a similar purple border (some minute flakes to enamels and minute wear to gilding, cover with chip to rim and chipping to interior flange and wear to gilt rim)
