A magnificent 18th Century gold three piece seal on gold fob with an 18ct gold paircase verge pocketwatch
seal unsigned, watch signed John Berry, London, no 2479, mid 18th Century
the heavy gold seal with deeply chiselled floral decoration folding out to reveal two further seals, the insets with a) the family crest of the 'Cope' family, b) initials 'IH' and c) with a griffon, on similarly decorated triple fob of woven gold chain with slider, the watch with chain fusee verge movement with pierced and decorative pillars, (later) white enamel dial with Roman numerals. gold arrow hands, plain gold inner case with London hallmark 1776, the outer case with engraved family crest of the 'Cope' family, hallmarked London 1751, with fitted presentation case, movement signed
