fine damscened nickel 25 jewel movement, monometallic balance and precision swan neck regulator, matt silvered dial with applied baton marks, two subsidiary dials for running seconds and 30 minute register, outer tachymetric scale and broad gold dauphine hands, in circular case with square push pieces, snap on back and turned down lugs, on makers leather strap with matching 18ct rose gold buckle, with Extract from the Archives stating the watch was sold on the 4th October 1963, case, dial and movement signed

Ruggiero Ricci is a celebrated American violinist (b. 1918) who has accumulated a formidable repertoire of about 60 violin concertos including all the violin concertos of Paganini as well as giving first performances of concertos by several modern composers. During World War II, he served as 'entertainment specialist' with the U.S. Army Air Force and at the end of the war returned to the concert stage making several world tours. He has recently taught master courses and in 1978 celebrated a 'Golden Jubilee,' marking half a century of his professional career.
