Born in Bremen, Henry Roessingh was educated in France and Germany. In 1920 he left Germany for France where he studied painting at the Academy. He was elected a member of the Salon des Independants and many of his works were purchased by the government and galleries in Paris. He moved to England in 1930 and exhibited in many major London galleries.
