A three-colour gold, gemset and guilloché enamel box
marked Keibel, St. Petersburg, circa 1850
Oblong with rounded corners, the base and sides chased and engraved with foliate scrolls with applied floral posies and foliate scrolls on stippled ground with chased panels, the hinged cover similarly decorated with a cartouche enclosing the rose-cut diamond cypher of Emperor Nicholas emanating from a blue guilloché enamel sunburst ground within chased and engraved laurel leaf rim, marked inside cover and base
