marked with Cyrillic initials MS, Moscow, 1908-1917
Of traditional form, on oval gilt base, the oval body with raised prow with cornelian cabochon finial with stylized pink, blue and green flowerheads against a background of blue, green, pink and ivory petals and scrolling foliage, set with nine cabochon stones, with raised handle, gilt interior, with later inscription inside, 'Coupe challenge du quotidien national russe 'La Renaissance' 9/V/1926 a.s. russe Bat A.S. Francaise 4:1' and the same in Russian, marked under the base and on the handle
