拍品專文

The present portrait is after a 'double' portrait of Grand Dukes Aleksandr and Konstantin, executed by Giovanni Battista Lampi, originally commissioned by Catherine the Great in 1795. The current whereabouts of this work are unknown, however there is a smaller version of the 'double' portrait in the Pavlovsk Museum.
It has been suggested that this work may have been executed by Giovanni Battista Lampi (1775-1837), son of the above.
We are grateful to Nina Stadnichjuk, the Painting Curator of the Pavlovsk Museum, for her help in preparing this catalogue entry.
