Vase-shaped and on spreading circular foot and with branch scroll handles, with flower and foliage borders, the body with a broad classical frieze of horsemen and with a band of figures and masks beneath, the body with inscription, marked on neck

The inscription reads 'THE VICEROY'S CUP 1894' and 'PRESENTED BY H.E. THE EARL OF ELGIN.'
