Each navette-shaped on oval foot, with reeded borders, the two slim loop handles with foliate terminals, the rising domed cover with oval baluster finial, the body engraved with a coat-of-arms, the cover with a crest, each marked on foot-rim and cover

The arms are those of Benn impaling Fowke, for John Benn Esq. (1759-1825), later Sir John Walsh 1st Bt., and his wife Margaret (d.1836), daughter of Joseph Fowke Esq., whom he married in 1787. John Benn took the name and arms of Walsh by Royal permission in 1795 in accordance with the will of his wife's uncle John Walsh (d.1795) of Warfield, co. Berks. He was later created a baronet in 1805. His son John, 2nd Bt., was created Baron Ormathwaite in 1868. (2)
