Each of trefoil form and on detachable spreading circular foot, with gadrooned borders, the field and foot engraved with 'C' cypher with earl's coronet above, each fully marked under base, the foot marked with lion passant and maker's mark, each engraved under base and foot with number and scratchweight 'N.1, 21.19' 'No 1'; 'N., 2 22, 9 1/2' '2'; 'N, 3, 21 19 1/2' '3'; and 'N 4, 21, 16' 'No 4'

The cypher is for either Henry, 2nd Earl of Rochester and 4th Earl of Clarendon of the first creation (1672-1753) or his son-in-law Thomas, 1st Earl of Clarendon of the second creation (1709-1786). (4)
