An Elizabeth I silver chalice and paten
London, 1573, maker's mark IP in shield shaped cartouche
Tapering cylindrical on domed and stepped circular foot, with knopped stem, the bowl with two bands of stylised foliage within strapwork borders, the paten slightly domed, with an engraved band of dashes, the foot engraved with the date '1574', marked on rim of chalice and side of paten
