Mark of Neresheimer, Hanau, with import marks for Chester, 1903
Formed as a three masted ship on four openwork wheels with sea-horse supports, the sails and flags billowing, some chased with coats-of-arms, the decks applied with figures of sailors, with openwork guard-rail cast with mermen and crowned cartouches, with putto figurehead, the stern applied with a merman and mermaid holding aloft torches, a plaque with a laurel-wreathed and armour-clad captain between, the hull repoussé and chased with scenes of gods and goddesses of the sea with putti amid the waves, with moveable anchor and rudder, marked on side, in a glazed wooden display case
