A Japanese lacquer suzuribako in the form of a drum, 19th century
decorated in gold scrolling vines on a faux bois ground, the sides with bands of metal studs, the interior cover decorated with cockerels, fitted inkstone and silver tray for a waterdroper -- 7 1/8in. (18cm.) long; and a black lacquer footed bowl decorated with scrolling lotus -- 13¼in. (33.7cm.) wide. (2)
