A Japanese ivory okimono of a hunter and attendant, 19th century, signed Kogyoku
carved with the huntsman wearing straw skirt, hat and decorated robes, carrying a large bow and sword on his back, beside him kneels a female attendant holding some flowers, the underside with an incised Kogyoku signature on an oval reserve -- 11in. (27.8cm.) high.
