Winter is recorded working for Friedrich, Reichsgrafen von Königsegg-Aulendorf, and at Sigmaringen. He was the teacher of Joseph Lerch (1740-1810), a porcelain painter at the factory at Nymphenburg. The arrangement of the present drawings suggest that they may also be designs for porcelain.
