The Muse Urania,
a fan, the silk leaf painted with Urania holding a globe and compasses, attended by putti, the reserves painted with scrolling leaves and embroidered with red, gold and blue spangles, the verso painted with flowers, the ivory sticks carved, pierced , gilt and decorated with red and blue spangles - 11in. (28cm.), possibly South German, circa 1770 (repairs to folds at verso)
