The Toilette of a lady,
a fan, the silk leaf painted with an elegant lady being laced up by her maid, whilst another holds her open robe, her fine hat rests on the chest of drawers, with mirror above, the reserves painted with portraits of a lady and gentleman, the reserves decorated with pink, blue and gold spangles, the silk verso painted with flowers, the mother of pearl sticks carved and pierced with four portraits of a lady, and putti with the altar of love - 10.5in. (27cm.), French, circa 1775, or possibly circa 1829 by Vanier Chardin for la Duchesse du Berry's ball.
