a fan, the leaf painted with a park with a pavilion beyond, one lady takes snuff, two hold fans, to the left a lady carries a tray of glasses and a man a basket of oranges, the verso painted with birds, ducks, butterflies and flowers, the ivory sticks painted with flowers and pierced, the guardsticks partly stained red and pique with silver - 11.5in. (29cm.), French or Dutch, circa 1690 (upper guardstick repaired, repairs to left edge of leaf)
