A small conical director's megaphone of riveted fibre board with pressed tin mouthpiece and leather carrying strap (strap broken), the main body with riveted conical form and painted brown finish with hand-painted white lettering CHARLES CHAPLIN -- 7¼in. (18.3cm.) long, circa early 1930s; and a clapperboard for the film Monsieur Verdoux, 1946, with white painted lettering giving the production details CHARLIE CHAPLIN Prod. "Monsieur Verdoux" ... R.Florey, Totheroh -- 7¼x8¾in. (18.4x22.4cm.); and a black and white photograph of Maurice Bessy circa 1980s (printed later) holding the clapperboard whilst seated at his desk at home surrounded by other pieces from his collection including this megaphone which can be seen on his left -- 9 3/8x12in. (23.8x30.5cm.) (3)
