Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton And Others
A large collection of negatives and photographs by Bob Penn associated with the careers of Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, 1950s-1970s, all prints with photographer's ink-credit to reverse, some printed later, subjects include:
- Look Back In Anger, 1958: 33 black and white prints featuring Richard Burton, Mary Ure and Claire Bloom, all -- 10x8in. (25.4x20.3cm.);
- Cleopatra, 1964: 19 black and white prints, majority of Elizabeth Taylor, largest -- 16x12in. (40.5x30.5cm.); and an illustrated souvenir programme;
- Becket, 1964: 22 black and white prints, majority of Richard Burton and Peter O'Toole, largest -- 14x11in. (35.4x28cm.); an illustrated souvenir programme; and 30 black and white 35mm negatives of Elizabeth Taylor taking photographs on set during the filming of Becket, with 14 corresponding black and white prints [negatives and prints both later] with two vintage 2¼x2¼in. negatives, one with corresponding contact print;
- The Spy Who Came In From The Cold, 1965: eight black and white prints and stills, largest -- 16x12in. (40.5x30.5cm.);
- The Comedians, 1967: 14 colour transparencies, majority of Richard Burton and Alec Guinness; and 32 black and white prints at a post-film reception, some duplicates, all -- 5x7in. (12.7x18cm.), majority of Taylor and Burton, other subjects include Alec Guinness, with 28 corresponding negatives;
- The Taming Of The Shrew, 1967: 12 black and white prints, all -- 16x12in. (40.5x30.5cm.);
- Doctor Faustus, 1967: six colour slides of Elizabeth Taylor on set with Alexandre de Paris; three 2½x2½in. colour transparencies of Taylor wearing elaborate wigs; and a colour print -- 7x9in. (18x23cm.);
- Goforth a.k.a. Boom, 1968: 56 colour slides and five black and white prints, all -- 10x8in. (25.4x20.3cm.);
- Zee & Co., 1972: 7 colour transparencies; 16 colour negatives; and eight black and white prints including a portrait of Michael Caine, largest -- 20x16in. (51x40.6cm.);
- The Bluebird, 1976: 23 colour negatives, all portraits of Elizabeth Taylor with corresponding contact sheets; 24 colour slides, various subjects include Patsy Kensit; and 12 colour portrait shots of Elizabeth Taylor, all -- 5x5in. (13x13cm.);
- Equs, 1977: 10 colour negatives with corresponding contact sheet; - 26 colour negatives of Burton and Taylor on a shopping trip in Israel;
- a quantity of black and white photographs of a party at the Taylor-Burton's villa in Cap Ferrat;
