A Franche Comté quarter-striking carriage clock with alarm, circa 1870
The cannelee case with engraved silvered mask to a white enamel Roman and Arabic dial, Breguet hands, alarm disc below, the eight day twin barrel movement with silvered platform to lever escapement with bimetallic balance, strike work positioned on the back plate with small stamp VB within a heart (probably Victor Boseet), hour and quarter strike on two gongs, alarm on bell to the underside of the case -- 5¼in. (13.3cm.) high to fold of handle
