A Franche Comté engraved gilt-brass striking and repeating carriage clock with alarm, circa 1840
With front and rear doors, the white enamel Roman dial dial with blued steel Breguet hands and signed Bovet à Fleurier by VI, with alarm ring below, the eight day twin barrel movement with matted gilt platform engraved in low relief to lever escapement with 'bats' wing bimetallic balance, strike work and alarm barrel positioned on the back plate with repeat signature, strike/repeat/alarm on bell to the underside -- 6in. (15cm.) high to fold of handle
