The hood with arched cresting and later brass finials, part-fluted outset columns, with breakarch trunk door and on stepped plinth with wavy apron, the 12in. wide brass dial with bird and urn spandrels to a Roman and Arabic chapter ring with fleur-de-lys half hour markers, matted centre with subsidiary seconds ring and date aperture, steel hands, signed on a disc in the arch Jona.t Marsh/LONDON, the eight day movement with five pillars, anchor escapement and rack strike on bell; case associated to movement and dial, mid 18th century -- 85in. (216cm.) high
