A George III oak longcase clock, circa 1795
The hood with swan neck pediment and brass spherical finial, outset columns, with breakarch trunk door and on stepped plinth (later lower section), the 12in. wide dial with gilt scroll spandrels to a Roman and Arabic chapter ring with dot minute track, with subsidiary seconds ring to the centre, signed Jno. Lamb/Spitsby, the arch with raised gilt scroll and urn decoration, pinned directly to the eight day movement with four pillars, anchor escapement and rack strike on bell -- 84in. (214cm.) high
